Welcome to the Georgia Health Careers Resource Clearinghouse
[HCRC].
Purpose of the Clearinghouse
The Georgia Health Careers Resource Clearinghouse was developed
through a partnership of the Georgia Department of Community
Health, the Georgia Health Care Workforce Policy Advisory Committee
[HWPAC], Mercer University School of Medicine / Medical Library,
and the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network. It was created in response
to critical shortages in Georgia's health care workforce,
and represents a means to assemble and display materials aimed
at improving recruitment and retention of Georgia's health
care professionals.
The Clearinghouse provides a single site where interested users
can easily view a range of products designed to aid those engaged
in health care workforce RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION activities.
By using the Clearinghouse, interested individuals can identify
health career recruitment and retention materials that meet the
recruitment and retention needs facing them. The Health careers
products listed on the site include videos, games, posters, CD-ROMs
and a wide array of other materials designed to meet the information
needs of a wide range of audiences, ranging from elementary school
students to adults. A complete list of these materials can be
found in the Products section of this website.
Individuals interested in items displayed on the website can
click on the appropriate link to get specific information about
the product. Doing this will provide them with a thorough description
of a product, its intended audience, the various media available
for delivering these materials to their intended audience, the
agency responsible for developing the material and other information.
All the materials posted on the website are available for purchase.
If you are interested in purchasing, click on the “how
to buy” listing and you will be connected directly to the
agency from which you will purchase the material. The service
is FREE OF CHARGE and you will be billed directly by the agency
distributing the material you purchase. All the proceeds of any
sale of materials go to straight to the organization that created
the purchased material.
The clearinghouse may also represent a powerful resource to
use in distributing materials you and your agency have developed.
If you feel that you have materials that could be displayed on
this website, please contact us at to inquire about this possibility.
Descriptions of the policies utilized to determine which materials
will be displayed in the clearinghouse can be found in the Policies section of this website.
A physical display of the clearinghouse materials, where interested
parties may view products on-site only, can be found at the
Statewide AHEC Network Program
