Find answers to the most frequenty-asked questions about the Georgia Health Careers Clearinghouse here:

Why was the Clearinghouse created?
The Georgia Health Care Workforce Policy Advisory Committee [HWPAC] was created by the Georgia Legislature to address the health care workforce needs in this state. The Board has engaged in a multi-pronged strategy to address both current and projected health workforce needs in Georgia. The identification of Recruitment and Retention as two primary areas for work has led to many interventions, including the creation of this Clearinghouse.

The Georgia Health Careers Resource Clearinghouse was created in 2003 through a contract between the Georgia Statewide AHEC Network and the Georgia Department of Community Health/ Division of Health Planning. The Recruitment and Marketing sub-committee of the HWPAC served as a key developer of the content and scope of the Clearinghouse. In its final form, the Clearinghouse has been designed to exist in two venues, electronic and physical. The electronic site is hosted and designed by the Mercer University School of Medicine’s Medical Library, through a contract with the Statewide AHEC Network.
